Carretera Austral Motorcycle Tour

We will welcome you at El Tepual Airport in Puerto Montt and transfer you to the hotel in Puerto Varas. There, we will meet the entire group, explain the journey in detail, hand over the motorcycles and enjoy a welcome dinner.

We will ride around Lake Llanquihue with views of Osorno Volcano and visit Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park and the Petrohué Waterfalls. We will then continue to the beginning of the Carretera Austral and take a ferry before arriving in Hornopirén.

We will take the ferry from Hornopirén through the southern fjords to Caleta Gonzalo, the gateway to Pumalín National Park. After riding through the park, we will continue along Route 7 between glaciers and fjords until we reach Puyuhuapi.

We will follow the Puyuhuapi and Queulat fjords to Queulat National Park, where we can admire the beauty of the Hanging Glacier. We will then ride the curves of Cuesta Queulat and continue toward Coyhaique, the capital of the Aysén Region.

We will leave Coyhaique and ride through the grasslands of Simpson Valley before crossing Cerro Castillo National Park. After winding through Cuesta del Diablo and riding among mountains, rivers and forests, we will catch our first views of General Carrera Lake before reaching Puerto Río Tranquilo.

We will ride one of Patagonia’s most spectacular scenic routes through Exploradores Valley. In Laguna San Rafael National Park, we will board a boat to admire the landscapes of the Northern Patagonian Ice Field and the grandeur of San Rafael Glacier.

We will begin with a boat excursion to the Marble Caves, one of Patagonia’s great attractions, sculpted along the shores of General Carrera Lake. We will then continue south, visit Puerto Bertrand and finish the day in Cochrane.

We will ride among mountains, rivers, cliffs and forests to Puerto Yungay, where we will take the ferry to Río Bravo. We will continue to Villa O’Higgins and Bahía Bahamondes, where the End of the Carretera Austral sign marks one of the journey’s great milestones.

We will head north along Route 7, stopping at viewpoints and riding one of the country’s most beautiful off-road routes. We will visit Patagonia National Park and continue to Puerto Guadal on the shores of General Carrera Lake.

We will rejoin Route 7 and follow General Carrera Lake through the challenging Paso Las Llaves to Chile Chico. From there, we will cross by ferry to Puerto Ibáñez and return to Coyhaique, where we will celebrate the adventure with a farewell dinner.

We will pick you up at the hotel and transfer you to Balmaceda Airport, bringing our Carretera Austral expedition to a close.
