Patagonia Chile–Argentina Motorcycle Tour

We will welcome our adventurers at Balmaceda Airport and transfer them to Coyhaique, capital of the Aysén Region, where we will enjoy a welcome dinner. There, we will review the route and share recommendations to make this journey one of the most memorable experiences in Patagonia.

A little-explored and mystical route with 50% off-road riding. We will ride on pavement from Coyhaique to just south of Villa Cerro Castillo, followed by 120 kilometers of gravel before reaching our destination. Forests, bridges and beautiful viewpoints make the route increasingly spectacular, while offering a glimpse into the history of these remote Patagonian communities.

This will undoubtedly be a special day as we ride one of Patagonia’s most beautiful scenic routes through Exploradores Valley. Laguna San Rafael National Park is a mosaic of fjords, channels, islands, estuaries and ice, and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve that serves as the main gateway to the Northern Patagonian Ice Field. We will board a boat to admire the immense San Rafael Glacier, its untouched landscapes and remarkable biodiversity.

In the morning, we will navigate the magnificent General Carrera Lake to reach the Marble Caves, spectacular rock formations sculpted by wind and water. In the afternoon, the adventure continues on a 100% off-road route. We will stop at one of the Carretera Austral’s most iconic bridges, visit Puerto Guadal and continue through the famous Paso Las Llaves to Chile Chico.

We will say goodbye to Chile and head south along Argentina’s legendary Route 40 through the vast Patagonian steppe. At times, we will begin to feel the presence of a special companion: the wind. Along the way we will visit iconic motorcycle stops such as Bajo Caracoles before arriving in Gobernador Gregores for a well-earned rest.

We will leave Gobernador Gregores early and continue south along the legendary Route 40 through the Patagonian steppe, where guanacos crossing the road may be our only company. Today we will face one of the route’s most challenging sections, known as “Los 73 Malditos.” After completing it, we will return to pavement and continue to the beautiful town of El Calafate.

After breakfast, we will visit one of Argentine Patagonia’s most impressive glaciers: Perito Moreno. Walkways offer spectacular views from several perspectives, and once inside the park there will be time to choose from available excursions, from boat trips near the glacier to glacier trekking. After this extraordinary visit, we will return to El Calafate.

We will leave El Calafate and continue across Route 40 and the Argentine pampas, with the Patagonian wind accompanying us for much of the day. We will cross the border into Chile, ride alongside the Strait of Magellan and board a ferry to Tierra del Fuego Island, where we will spend the night in Cerro Sombrero.

Today will be a long and highly anticipated day. We will cross the border into Argentina and follow Route 3 across Tierra del Fuego. As we approach Ushuaia, the road begins winding through forests, lakes and mountains, with stops to photograph the scenery before arriving in the city known as the End of the World.

After reaching the End of the World, we will take a free day to discover Ushuaia in greater depth. The possibilities are extensive, from museums exploring the region’s history to boat excursions through the Beagle Channel and visits to penguin colonies.

We will leave Ushuaia and head north, at times riding alongside the Atlantic Ocean. After crossing from Argentina back into Chile, we will visit King Penguin Park, the northernmost nesting site for these remarkable birds. We will then continue to Porvenir on the Strait of Magellan and take the ferry to Punta Arenas.

We will leave Punta Arenas and ride south along the Strait of Magellan to visit Strait of Magellan Park, one of the most important historical sites in Chilean Patagonia. It includes the National Historic Monuments Fort Bulnes and Rey Don Felipe City, also known as Port Famine, as well as archaeological sites documenting human presence thousands of years ago. We will then continue to Puerto Natales, gateway to Torres del Paine National Park.

We will leave Puerto Natales early and ride the 50 kilometers to Torres del Paine National Park, considered one of the world’s great natural wonders. We will admire the Cuernos, the Towers and the Paine Massif, and continue to the Grey Lake area to photograph icebergs calved from Grey Glacier. After this unforgettable visit, we will return to Puerto Natales and celebrate the journey together with a farewell dinner.

After a restful night, we will pick you up at the hotel and transfer you to the airport for your flight to Santiago.
